Celebrating Exceptional Volunteer Service: Bob Weier Recognized for Years of Dedication

On April 24, Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North had the pleasure of recognizing longtime volunteer Bob for his exceptional service and commitment to our mission.

Executive Director Jeff West presented Bob with a letter of appreciation from Habitat for Humanity Canada President and CEO Pedro Barata, along with a Certificate of Recognition for Exceptional Volunteer Service. Joining the celebration were Board Chair Bill Wright, Project Planner Michelle Marlatt, and Director of Family Services Corinne Bjorge.

For years, Bob has been a steady and dependable member of Habitat VIN's Build Team. Whether on a construction site or behind the scenes, he consistently shows up ready to help, contributing thousands of volunteer hours and lending his skills wherever they are needed most.

What makes Bob's contributions especially memorable is the craftsmanship he brings to our work. His woodworking projects have become lasting symbols of the Habitat experience. From the handcrafted wooden keys presented to new homeowners, to the signs that welcome residents to Habitat strata communities, to custom furniture built for staff and volunteers, Bob's work adds warmth, personality, and meaning to the places and people connected to Habitat.

These creations are more than practical pieces. They tell a story of care, community, and generosity. They help transform houses into homes and create tangible connections to the volunteers and supporters who make affordable homeownership possible.

"We often talk about the importance of volunteers, but people like Bob truly bring that message to life," said Corinne Bjorge. "His dedication, skill, and willingness to help have made a lasting impact on our organization and on the families we serve."

Thank you, Bob, for your time, talent, and unwavering commitment to Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North. We are grateful for everything you have contributed over the years and proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition.
