Urban Systems Joins Habitat for Humanity for a Corporate Team Build Day
On September 12th, Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North had the pleasure of hosting a Corporate Team Build Day with Urban Systems. Seven enthusiastic members from their team joined our crew—Larry, Joe, Darryl, and longtime volunteer Bob Weir—at 1330 Lake Trail to help restore the community pergola. This much-loved space, often used for family BBQs, celebrations, and gatherings, was in need of some TLC. With their dedication and hard work, the team helped us sand and scrape the pergola, bringing it back to life.
In addition to their hands-on efforts, Urban Systems made a generous donation of $10,000 to support our mission. We are incredibly grateful for their contribution, which will go a long way toward helping us build homes and strengthen our community.
Special Surprise Visitor
We were happy to have Nate Bonn, our newest Habitat homeowner, stop by to share his inspiring story. He offered his heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers for their contributions, dedication, and support. Nate's on-site visit was a meaningful reminder of the life-changing impact on individuals and families in our community.
Special Thanks:
A big thank you and shout-out to The Old Farm Market and Frankie Jo’s Bakery for kindly donating food to fuel our hardworking volunteers! Their generosity never goes unnoticed, and we are thankful for their continued support. Building homes and helping families truly takes a village, and these businesses have always stood by us. When you're in Courtenay, be sure to stop by The Old Farm Market (660 England Avenue) and Frankie Jo's Bakery (501 4th St.).
