Haunted House Fundraiser to Scare Up Support for Affordable Housing

The air is crisp, the leaves are falling, and Halloween is right around the corner. But this year, something genuinely scary is happening in Campbell River, British Columbia. Our team at Habitat for Humanity is summoning resident thrill-seekers for a “Haunting on Hilchey,” a haunted house fundraiser to support the construction of affordable housing for families in need on Vancouver Island.

The Venue

The “Haunting on Hilchey" happens at 461 Hilchey Road in Campbell River and is also the planned build site for new homes to hopefully break ground next year. Sponsored by and with the generous support of the Campbell River Museum, the Chamber of Commerce, and other local organizations, it will undoubtedly be a hair-raising event. Driven by a sinister sense of fun, volunteers and our own Habitat for Humanity staff members will send brave residents into a world of ghostly encounters, all in the name of building homes for families in need.
