On August 17th, 2023, two years after breaking ground on a 12-home affordable project at 1375 Piercy Avenue in Courtenay, Habitat for Humanity, Vancouver Island North welcomed home the first seven of 12 partner families! This milestone signified a transformative moment for the families as their aspirations of owning a home became a reality. For our Media Release, click here.

Beyond being a symbolic key ceremony, the event marked the culmination of tireless efforts from volunteers, the compassion of donors, and the dedicated Habitat for Humanity team, all of whom collaborated to make this achievement possible.

This key ceremony is a reminder that even though access to affordable housing has become less and less obtainable for families in our community. When we stick together and offer support and the tools necessary, anything is possible!
