Habitat for Humanity Celebrates 20 Years on Vancouver Island North

This year marks a significant milestone for Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North. We’re celebrating 20 years of building homes, communities, and hope! Thanks to the generosity of people like you, we have built 51 homes and served 55 families since 2004, with two more on the way. These homes provide families with the security and stability of a safe place to call home.

We cannot do this important work alone! We are incredibly fortunate to have a dedicated team of volunteers who find purpose in our mission of building homes for families in our community. Since our founding in 2004, many outstanding individuals have poured their time, skills, and passion into this organization. Take a moment to read the stories of some of our long-time volunteers below. Habitat would not be what it is today without the community's kindness.

20 Years, $20K Challenge

To mark this incredible journey, we invite you to participate in and support our 20 Years, $20K Fundraising Challenge! Your financial contribution (of any size) helps us get one step closer to breaking ground on our next home-build project. Every dollar counts, and your gifts make the difference between a family having a home or being without one.

Below is a message from Jeff West, our Executive Director.

More Great news - Proclaimed Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North Day

October 7th has been coined #WorldHabitatDay for many years now. The United Nations established #WorldHabitatDay to recognize the critical role of housing in peoples’ lives.

Recognizing the significance of our 20th anniversary, the City of Courtenay and Campbell River proclaimed October 7th as Habitat for Humanity VIN (Vancouver Island North) Day! Thank you!

We are planning a celebration at both of our ReStores to thank the community! Stay tuned for more news. In the meantime, if you want to get involved with Habitat, our ReStores always seek extra help.
