Habitat's #BidtoBuild Online Auction Returns with Exclusive Items, Experiences, and Escapes
Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North is excited to announce the fifth annual #BidtoBuild Online Auction, aimed at raising funds to construct safe and affordable homes for local families in need.
From June 10th to 19th, you can participate in virtual bidding on over 150 items, including West Jet Gift of Flight, Air North Flight, gift cards, experiences, and getaways generously donated by local businesses and professionals.
Proceeds from #BidtoBuild2024 will support upfront development costs for Habitat's upcoming project at 461 Hilchey Road in Campbell River, as well as refurbishments for previous Habitat homeowners' homes, enabling the organization to serve more families in Vancouver Island North.

If you register before the June 10th launch, you'll be entered into a draw to win two adult weekend passes to the Vancouver Island MusicFest. It's our way of saying thank you for supporting our mission to build homes and change lives.

Since its inception in 2020, #BidtoBuild has been a beacon of hope, raising much-needed funds, especially during the challenges of the pandemic. Last year alone, we raised an incredible $36,000, thanks to the generosity of our supporters.
As we look ahead, we're excited to continue our journey of impact. With the completion of our 12-home project on 1375 Piercy Avenue in Courtenay, we've seen firsthand the transformative power of community and collaboration.

Buy-it-now Contest
Brian McLean and Tyee Chevrolet Buick GMC Ltd. have generously stepped up once again as our 'buy-it-now' sponsor, encouraging especially generous bidders. The 'buy-it-now' price for each item will be set at double its established value. Those who opt for the 'buy-it-now' feature will not only receive a tax receipt for the amount above the established value but also be entered into a draw for a secret prize valued at $1,000.
The Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce, Campbell River Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Courtenay BIA, Downtown Comox BIA, Downtown Campbell River BIA, have each lent support as auction partners by sharing information with their members and networks. Media sponsors 97.3 The Eagle, 100.7 the Raven, The Campbell River Mirror, and the Comox Valley Record are helping spread the word.
Bidders can expect gift cards for local restaurants and businesses, tools, artwork, gift baskets, and experiences, including a Whale and Wildlife Zodiac Tour donated by Campbell River Whale Watching and other getaways across the island.
To join the excitement, all interested participants must register on our auction platform. Once registered, the bidding journey begins! The items will be available for pick directly from our donors or from the Comox Valley and Campbell River ReStores once the auction closes.
