We are thrilled to announce that the 2024 Matching Donation Challenge raised a total of $56,440! The fundraiser kicked off on #GivingTuesday in December of last year. What makes this fundraiser special is Christoph Real Estate Group's matching pledge. They generously agreed to double donation contributions, up to $5,000, throughout December. This matching pledge has allowed contributions to go twice as far, helping Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North raise more funds for affordable housing and making an even bigger difference in our community.

Thank you to all the volunteers who worked at our donation tables at the Comox Valley and Campbell River ReStores, who shared valuable information and encouraged the community to learn more about our mission. At Habitat, we couldn’t be more grateful. The support we are seeing in our community is changing lives, and together, we are making homeownership a reality for families.

Extension for Charitable Donations

This year, the postal strike affected non-profits and small businesses across Canada. To alleviate some of its impacts, the government of Canada extended the deadline for making donations eligible for tax support in the 2024 tax year until February 28, 2025. This means that even if you missed the deadline to send a gift, you may still do so! Learn more here.
