Garden Shed Auction Just in Time for Spring

Click here to register for the auction! Bidding opens on Wednesday, March 6th at 10:00am and ends March 31st at 5:00pm. Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North (Habitat VIN) is giving one lucky bidder the opportunity to purchase the perfect spring gift and help families in our community at the same time! We’re auctioning off a custom cottage-style shed built by Habitat volunteers. The shed could be used as a studio, home office, playhouse, garden shed, or just a quiet space in your yard all to yourself.

The auction will run from March 6th to March 31st, just in time for spring. Bidding starts at $500, and the shed can be viewed by potential bidders at the Comox Valley ReStore. The cottage-style shed measures 99” (l) x 75” (w) x 106” (h), with an entrance deck measuring 48" x 75".

Delivery within the Comox Valley is included thanks to Habitat partners. Delivery to Campbell River may be available but is not guaranteed. If your purchase is dependent on delivery and you live in Campbell River, please reach out to us with your location details before bidding. Delivery must be arranged by April 18th, 2023.

Built by experienced Habitat volunteers, the garden shed is made to last, with sturdy construction and high-quality materials.

This shed was built by volunteers who are used to building houses, so it's built like a house. We had five volunteers. It was about five and a half days of work to put it together. It's a really well-built shed. It's very sturdy, so you can put it on a trailer or truck.” - Tudor Davis

Features include vinyl siding with Tyvek underneath, household windows that you can open with a hand crank, a shingle roof with tar paper, and an overhang at the entrance. Watch the video below for more details and a walk through demostration.

How will this auction benefit Habitat Vancouver Island North?

Funds from the auction will support Habitat VIN’s affordable housing development, a 12-home project on 1375 Piercy Avenue in Courtenay. The project aims to provide safe, decent, and affordable homes to families in the community. The garden shed auction is an opportunity for the community to support this initiative while also taking home a beautiful and functional addition to their backyard.

Construction of this shed was sponsored by Your Island Mortgage Team and several other Habitat supporters stepped up to donate materials, including, Jim Zsiros Contracting (with discounts from Slegg Building Materials), Starline Windows and thank you to Windsor Plywood Courtenay for transporting the shed.

If you don’t have the space for a shed, but still want to support Habitat VIN’s affordable housing projects, make a one-time or monthly donation at habitatdonate.com.
