This role has a lot of movement, some lifting, and lots of variety. It’s perfect for that volunteer who likes to move around and doesn’t mind a bit of effort. Sign up here

Tools Testing & Sorting

[caption id="attachment_8064" align="alignleft" width="363"] Photo: Bonner Photography[/caption] The tool room is where volunteers test, clean and fix up any kind of tool that comes into the ReStore. It could be as simple as sorting gardening tools like shovels to testing lawnmowers and other hand tools like drills and saws. This is an ideal role if you are a problem-solver who likes to tinker and has some repair experience. Or if you like to overhaul a space and organize it, this area in our ReStore could use some attention. Due to space, only one volunteer in this area at a time so while the overall ReStore is social, this role works independently. Sign up here

Fundraising & Special Events

[caption id="attachment_8086" align="alignleft" width="277"] Photo: McKinnon Photography[/caption] #BidtoBuild online auction is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year, and last year we were able to raise over $45,000 all thanks to generous donations from 170 businesses and individuals! This June, we are gearing up to exceed our $50,000 target in order to achieve our goal of building 12 homes a year. If you want to help us achieve our goal and be part of this meaningful and exciting project from start to finish, we would love to have you! We are looking for volunteers that want to join our fundraising committee and contribute their leadership and expertise in the areas of idea-generating, planning, asking for donations, data entry, donation pickups, admin support, and post-event follow-up. This is a great opportunity to get behind the scenes at Habitat, meet new friends, and help make a difference, from the comfort of your home. If you would like to get involved, please contact volunteercr@habitatnorthisland.com for more details.
