The Upcycling Challenge is a Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North contest that is a commitment to keeping building materials and household items out of landfills. The Upcycle challenge is designed to inspire our community to bring imagination to reality through sustainable creation.

There are two chances to win a $100.00 gift card to one of the ReStores. The two categories are Best Upcycle Project and a Random Draw, ensuring that those new to upcycling have a fair chance of taking a prize home! Two wins for you and a big win for the environment!
2024 Upcycle Challenge Dates
Series 1
- Series 1 Upcycle Challenge begins April 22nd, 2024 and project submissions will be accepted.
- Series 1 Upcycle Challenge submission closes July 31st, 2024 at midnight.
- Selection process begins August 1st to 5th, 2024.
- Winner announcement and notification will be on August 6th, 2024.
Series 2
- Series 2 Upcycle Challenge begins August 1st, 2024 and project submissions will be accepted.
- Series 2 Upcycle Challenge submissions close on November 30th, 2024, at midnight.
- Selection process begins December 1st to 5th, 2024.
- Winner announcement and notification will be on December 6th, 2024.
How To Enter
- Get your creativity flowing!
- Visit either the Comox Valley or Campbell River Restore and purchase the materials for your 2024 Upcycle Challenge project. You can do this before the start date of the challenge to get a head start on your Upcycle Challenge Project.
- Complete your project.
- Fill out the online submission form below with all required information, review the contest rules and attach your Upcycle Challenge project photos.
- Once submitted, you will receive a confirmation of your project submission.
Rules
- Your upcycling or renovation project materials must be purchased from either the Campbell River or Comox Valley ReStore.
- A minimum of 80% of the material must be used in the project completion.
- Submit a project start and completion photo.
- A project can only be submitted once.
